Disadvantaged Business Enterprise
It is the position of  CHRISTUS Health Louisiana not to discriminate on the basis of gender, race, religion, national origin, age, physical or mental disability or military veteran status in the award or performance of contract.

In an effort to encourage and enhance economic development, all individuals or companies submitting proposals or bids are encouraged to make good faith efforts to subcontract ten (10) percent of the dollar value of the prime contract or purchases to small business concerns owned and controlled by socially and economically disadvantaged individuals, which for purposes of this solicitation shall be considered a DBE.

A DBE is deemed as individuals who are presumed to be socially and economically disadvantaged; these individuals include: Women, African, Americans; Hispanics, Native American, Asian-Pacific Americans, and Asian-Indian.

If you are bidding on a project and are selected as the low bidder on a CHRISTUS Health Louisiana project, you will be asked to provide information establishing your efforts to subcontract with small businesses that are owned and controlled by socially and economically disadvantaged individuals.

The information will include:

1) The name and address of each DBE;
2) A description of the work to be performed by each named firm;
3) The dollar value of the contract (subcontract);
4) Written documentation of the bidder's/offeree's commitment to use a DBE;
5) Written confirmation from the DBE that it is participating in the contract as provided in the commitment made under (4); and,
6) If the contract goal is not met evidence of good faith efforts.
